ASML Graduation Award

The Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen has awarded me the ASML Graduation Award for Mathematics. It is one of several awards for students in exact sciences, and these awards are called the Jong Talent Prijzen. At the ceremony, I also presented my work to a broad audience.

What is this Graduation Award?

The ASML Graduation Award for Mathematics is part of the Jong TAlent Prijzen. Here is quote taken from KHMW’s website that describe the Jong Talent Prijzen:

De Hollandsche Maatschappij Prijzen voor Jong Talent worden jaarlijks toegekend ter bevordering van het wetenschappelijk onderwijs in de technische en exacte vakken. [De] AFSTUDEERPRIJZEN, [zijn] ter bekroning van uitzonderlijke studieresultaten (masterscriptie of onderzoeksverslag) aan een Nederlandse instelling voor wetenschappelijk onderwijs.

Jaron
Jaron Sanders received in 2012 M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics and Physics from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, as well as a PhD degree in Mathematics in 2016. After he obtained his PhD degree, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Jaron Sanders then worked as an assistant professor at the Delft University of Technology, and now works as an assistant professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His research interests are applied probability, queueing theory, stochastic optimization, stochastic networks, wireless networks, and interacting (particle) systems.
